This  collection  of  hand  made  beads  has  been  loosely  gathered  since  the  mid  1970s.  The  earlier  beads  were  the  outgrowth  of  the  counter  culture  movement  where  a  significant  segment  of  the  population  was  attempting  to  acquire  a  better  understanding  of  there  place  in  society.  And,  who  mostly  sought  to  make  the  world  a  better  place  to  live  in.

In  time  a  number  of  these  casual  artisans  became  master  crafts  men  and  women.  In  the  process  of  exploring  and  expanding  their  knowledge  of  various  media  they  have  laid  the  foundation  for  contemporary  beadmakers  working  today  in  glass,  clay,  polymer  and  various  other  media.
