Tyler Bead Co. by Tyler Hannigan Porcelain & Stoneware Beads
|
SILVERHAWK BEAD COLLECTION
Tyler Bead Co. started bead design and production in Vallejo, CA. in 1972. After about a year Tyler Hannigan moved the business to San Francisco and then later to Pacific Grove, CA. Production ceased in 1977.
The beads was primarily designed for and sold to bead shops along the Pacific Coast to be resold for jewelry and macrame.
The collection consists of over 80 designs in four or five solid colors with an additional three marble color combination added to the catalog in the last two years.
This website will present a sampling of the original beads with an attempt to fill in the gaps as time permits. Every beadmaker has to start somewhere, learning as they go. These beads reflect the journey of discovery with some of these early beads functioned well whereas others were merely steps in developing the craft and art of beadmaking.
